About the field of study
Students of Design of the second-cycle study acquire and deepen their basic knowledge of the structure, as well as the properties of textile products and existing methods of imparting special properties to textiles. Students learn how to develop artistic and workshop skills in a creative and independent way. They create, realize and artistically express their own concepts of design objects. They learn to recognize the important problems of designing design objects and comprehensively define and describe them. The study program varies according to the specialization chosen by the student. It includes both general subjects, necessary for understanding the technical aspects of design and theoretical foundations, as well as a number of specialized subjects.
The textile architecture specialization is a combination of knowledge and practice through paid internships in companies, theoretical and practical classes conducted in the department, as well as courses and training to improve competence - culminating in a certificate. Students take domestic and foreign study visits (Fashion Fairs in Poznań and Paris, a trip to China) and complete English language courses ending with a TELC certificate. As a result, they can boast 2 years of professional experience after graduation.
The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website

Competencies you will gain
About you
Japanese industrial designer Kenji Ekuan stated that "design is giving shape to people's dreams." Very often applied art is referred to from English as design, especially since it is in this word that all design mechanisms, the value of an object, its shape, color, finish, but also its use or method of distribution are hidden. These elements enable people's imaginations to fulfill the things they need. If you also want to learn how to do it, choose Design as your second-cycle field of study. During your studies, you will learn about modern technologies for obtaining special products and the styles in art and creative traditions associated with them. You will learn how the development of architecture, urbanism, sculpture, painting and handicrafts have influenced our culture. You will also gain knowledge in philosophy, cultural history and design.
