Required documents

In the first step of admission, scans of all required documents must be uploaded to the admission portal. If you provide incomplete documents and upload them after the deadline, your application will be rejected. During the second step of enrollment, original documents should be delivered to the office of Incoming Studnets and Staff Mobility Division.

Mind that due to the upcoming changes in law on higher education in Poland some rules of admission might change. Make sure to visit our website regularly for any updates.

 

During the first step of admissions you should upload:

  • Secondary school-leaving certificate or/and high school diploma & Transcript of Records entitling to start higher education, with an Apostille or legalized in the country of issue, or confirmation from the competent institution that the candidate has started the procedure to obtain Apostille or legalization.

Attention: Remember, that in case of legalization you might be required to have the stamp and the signature of the Polish Consul! Read more about legalization.

  • Recognition of your high school diploma in the Superintendent's Office in Poland or after July 1, 2025 it will be possible to request an Individual Recognition Statement from NAWA. Details are available here. Check here to check if this concerns you!

  • Depending on the educational system in which your certificate/diploma was issued you might have to take part in entrance exams as well. Read more about it here,
  • Sworn translation of the certificate/diploma & Transcript of Records into Polish or English, unless it's already in Polish or English,
  • Language certificate at B2 level. The list of certificates and other options are listed here,
  • Application fee,
  • Scan of a passport (page with personal details),
  • Scan of a passport photograph.

Are you a candidate "admitted" for studies?

During the second step of enrollment (after being admitted), original documents must be delivered to Incoming Students and Staff Mobility Division: 

  • Signed Application Form (downloaded from the Candidate's Portal),
  • Secondary school-leaving certificate or/and high school diploma & Transcript of Records entitling to start higher education, with an Apostille or legalized in the country of issue, 
  • Recognition of your high school diploma in the Superintendent's Office in Poland or an Individual Recognition Statement from NAWA (if applicable),
  • Sworn translation of the certifiate/diploma & Transcript of Records & exams results into Polish or English, unless they're already in Polish or English,
  • Copy of a confirmation that the candidate knows the language of instruction at B2 level,
  • Proof of the tuition fee payment for the first semester of studies (if applicable),
  • Scan of passport (page with personal details),
  • Copy of visa or residence card or another document legalizing stay in Poland,
  • Copy of health insurance valid in Poland,
  • Signed ‘Provisions concerning processing of personal data of candidates for admission, students in all degree programmes, and doctoral students’ (part of the Application Form),
  • Candidates under 18 must attach parents'/legal guardians' consent for a minor to pursue their studies at Lodz University of Technology.

During the first step of admissions you should upload:

  • Graduation diploma of first or second cycle studies and a transcript of records (ToR) entitling to take up higher studies with the Apostille or legalized in the country in which it was issued, or a confirmation from the relevant institution that the candidate has initiated the procedure to obtain the Apostille or legalization,

  • Individual Recognition Statement issued by NAWA that your diploma entitles you to apply for Master's degree studies in Poland. You can do it free of charge and online in the Syrena system of the Polish National Agency of Academic Exchange.

  • Scan of passport (page with personal details),
  • Copy of visa or residence card, or another document allowing for legal stay in Poland,
  • Copy of health insurance valid in Poland,
  • Signed ‘Provisions concerning processing of personal data of candidates for admission, students in all degree programmes, and doctoral students’ (part of the Application Form).

Candidates for first and second degree studies in the process of confirmation of learning outcomes, are required to submit:

  • A filled in and signed form 
  • A decision on the recognition of learning outcomes obtained as a result of submitting to the procedure of confirmation of learning outcomes, 
  • In the case of first-degree studies, the required documents are:
  1. secondary school-leaving certificate or/and high school diploma & Transcript of Records entitling to start higher education, with an Apostille or legalized in the country of issue, or confirmation from the competent institution that the candidate has started the procedure to obtain Apostille or legalization,

  2. confirmation that the certificate entitles the holder to enter higher education institution,

  3. sworn translation of the diploma & Transcript of Records into Polish or English, unless it's already in Polish or English,

  4. language certificate, unless in your previous education Polish/English was the medium of instruction,

  5. one passport-size photo,

  6. scan of passport,

  7. copy of visa or residence card, or another document allowing for legal stay in Poland,

  8. copy of health insurance valid in Poland,

  9. proof of the admission fee payment,

  10. proof of the tuition fee payment for the first semester of studies.

     

Send all documents to the faculty to which you are applying  and wait for decision.


In the case of second-degree studies, the required documents are:

  1. graduation diploma of first or second cycle studies and a transcript of records entitling to take up higher studies with the Apostille or legalized in the country in which it was issued,

  2. confirmation that the certificate entitles the holder to enter higher education institution,

  3. sworn translation of the diploma & Transcript of Records into Polish or English, unless it's already in Polish or English,

  4. language certificate, unless in your previous education Polish/English was the medium of instruction,

  5. one passport-size photo,

  6. scan of passport

  7. copy of visa or residence card, or another document allowing for legal stay in Poland,

  8. copy of health insurance valid in Poland,

  9. proof of the admission fee payment,

  10. proof of the tuition fee payment for the first semester of studies.

Send all documents to the faculty to which you are applying  and wait for decision.

Legalization

Legalization is a confirmation of formal compliance of the document with law or the authenticity of the signatures and seals placed on the document. A certificate (diploma) should be legalised by the relevant institutions of the country in which it was issued. Legalization of foreign education documents is made by:

The consul of the Republic of Poland competent for the country on which territory or in which education system the certificate/diploma was issued, or
Education authorities of the country on which territory or in which education system the certificate/diploma was issued
Attention: in that case your documents still require signature of the Polish Consul or Ambassador (it will be necessary for nostrification), or
Accredited in Poland or in another EU Member State, EFTA Member State or OECD Member State diplomatic mission or consular office of the country in which territory or in which education system the certificate/diploma was issued.

If you are the holder of a document issued in one of the countries listed below, you should legalize it in a Polish diplomatic mission appropriate for a given country:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Central African Republic, China (excluding Special Administrative Regions: Hong Kong, Macao), Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Congo, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Singapore, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Apostille


Apostille is a confirmation of a document drawn up in one country allowing it to be used legally in another country. Apostille is issued by the competent authority of the country which the document was issued. The list of the competent authorities of the countries - parties of the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 is available here.  Apostille is drawn up according to the model annexed to the Convention and has the form of annotations on the document or is a separate document that comes with it.
