Piotr Cajdler - Global Product Manager Robotics Trainings at ABB - Graduate opinion
In high school I began to be interested in robotics, and since I was always more interested in screws than soldering - the natural choice was Robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUL. These studies gave me a very good, technical knowledge in a wide range - from mathematics and physics, through the basics of machine design, technical drawing, precision mechanics to the construction and programming of robots. Of course, during my studies I was most interested in the latest developments and technologies, but in retrospect I see that technology is changing all the time and faster and faster, and a good knowledge of the basics is what makes it easy to follow these changes. Thanks to the high quality of education, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is highly recognized among employers. In addition to theoretical knowledge, it is very important to test it in practice - and this is possible through involvement in additional projects - in cooperating companies or in one of the scientific circles. I know that the job market, especially among students, looks different now than it did a few years ago, but still, when applying to a company, additional projects carried out during studies can determine the choice of that particular candidate.
