About the field of study

Electrical Engineering allows you to learn about the latest developments in this field in industry. Students acquire skills related to the design and operation of advanced power systems (smart grid, smart home), modern lighting, advanced industrial automation systems, as well as intelligent security and surveillance systems. The study program places particular emphasis on developing skills and acquiring knowledge relevant to the transformation process of the electric power sector in Poland, including the development of distributed generation, the management of energy microgrids or improving the energy efficiency of equipment and systems. The acquired knowledge allows you to understand and analyze physical processes occurring in electrical equipment and systems, as well as formulate and solve complex engineering problems using modern computer tools for modeling, analysis or processing of measurement results. Students apply their new skills at workplaces, completing a 6-week industrial internship.

How does electricity travel from the factory to the outlets in our homes? Is it possible to control electricity so that it powers our devices in an optimal way and with what methods can we convert it into mechanical work, chemical or thermal energy? The answers to these questions are known to students of Electrical Engineering! These are specialist engineers who have mastered the issues of machinery and electrical systems to perfection.  

What is it like to study Electrical Engineering at Lodz University of Technology? It is above all an opportunity to acquire new practical skills! You will have the opportunity to learn programming, automation or project management that will be useful to you in your future professional work. In addition, in an advanced degree you will learn about all possible applications of electricity in industry and everyday life — heat exchange and generation, electrical circuits or renewable energy. You will also gain knowledge about modern ways of generating and using electricity. The program takes into account all aspects, necessary to become a specialist in the industry. After graduation, you will be qualified to work in many areas related to the generation and use of electricity and the design, construction and operation of electrical equipment. Theoretical foundations and practical skills will allow you to work as a designer of electrical installations, devices and networks, as well as to obtain design and supervision licenses. You can also start your own business in a wide range of services and the creation of new technologies and solutions.
