About the field of study

Informatics provides knowledge of computer hardware and programming at a high level of specialization. In the first three semesters, students gain knowledge of algorithms and data structures, programming basics, operating systems and computer architecture. Semesters 4 and 5 are devoted to databases, embedded systems and fundamentals of programming engineering. Semester 6 and 7, in addition to the basics of artificial intelligence or machine learning, gives you the opportunity to choose your own field of interest. Students gain the ability to independently solve problems typical of interdisciplinary engineering projects, the necessary knowledge of economics and project management, and a very good command of the English language. Nearly 40 proposals for specialized classes await future engineers, including mobile application design, building database applications in HTML5 and Java technology, 3D graphics and animation, and programming for mobile devices. Our lecturers are highly qualified staff with teaching experience, academic achievements in the field of computer science, and often business experience. Many of the classes are run in modern and globally unique scientific and research, and semi-industrial laboratories at the TUL Information Technology Center. The 3D cave, the multimedia techniques lab and the character movement modeling labs for computer games are just some of the places where you will gain competence at the highest level. The study program is updated in consultation with a number of ICT companies that are also involved in the education process.

Graduate opinions

I like to be "up to date" with the possibilities offered by new devices, especially mobile ones. Nowadays, more and more industries are basing their solutions on information systems, so the demand for IT specialists in different areas of the economy. My friends and I graduated from the same field of study, but each of us is fulfilled in completely different areas.

About you

Computer games are your thing? Or would you rather learn how to create your own or design advanced computer programs? If the virtual world has no secrets from you - computer science will be a good choice for you. This is a field for computer enthusiasts who want to work in the environment of the latest technologies. Would you like to learn advanced programming methods, explore new languages and learn database management? For students majoring in computer science, it's not hard! When you graduate, you'll know all of these things and more! You will design mobile applications yourself, know how to create intelligent software and inference systems, and even create solutions for virtual reality. In the age of artificial intelligence and the growth of the IT industry, graduates have no problem finding jobs - employers are looking for them. Many students find employment after completing internships at one of the partner institutions, including. Fujitsu, Makolab or Accenture.
