About the field of study

Textronics is a new field of knowledge that has emerged from such areas of science as electronics, textiles, automation and computer science. Textile products harmoniously combine specialized electronic systems with textile structures to form a uniform, multifunctional whole. Their applications include smart utility and protective products that at first glance are not significantly different from ordinary clothing, but beneath the surface lies a network of integrated sensors and electronic systems that control both the internal and external parameters of the garment. Thanks to them, the functionality and protective properties of the garment increase significantly.

Students will learn about IT, electronic and textile techniques, which they will use to create intelligent control automation systems, as well as systems for environmental detection. Textronics offers specialized knowledge of microcontrollers, including their programming, as well as the structure of materials and textile technologies such as weaving, knitting, spinning, and others. The skills of programming microcontrollers and designing electronic circuits will allow for the creation of innovative solutions that integrate electronics with functional textiles. The student also gains knowledge in the field of human physiology, which is why he is able to create user-oriented textronic solutions. The future specialist will have the ability to quickly prototype and test textronic products. The studies also prepare students to independently solve complex, interdisciplinary problems in the field of intelligent materials.

Wearable Texttronics
Passive and Active Flexible Sensors
Mini Controllers

About you

Textronics is a new, very practical field of knowledge. Thanks to electrodes placed in socks, gloves or special wristbands, you will be able to create a system to stimulate the driver's alertness, intelligent car upholstery, shoes for the blind, and even a glove that allows you to convert sign language into spoken language.
If you are looking for a field of study that will make you stand out on the job market and respond to the needs of the future – then Textronics will be an excellent choice! This is the first such academic field of study in Poland and one of the few of its kind in Europe. During your studies, you will gain extensive knowledge of the basics of electronics, microcontrollers, including their programming, as well as the structure of materials and textile technologies such as weaving, knitting, spinning and others. Thanks to this, you will be well prepared to create new solutions that are not yet available on the market.
