About the field of study

Automatic Control and Robotics is a good choice for people who are interested in many fields of science at the intersection of mechanics, electronics and programming. Interdisciplinary education provides a wide variety of opportunities. The expanded scope of knowledge dispels doubts about the construction and functioning of robots, as well as their use in all areas of life. The study program includes subjects that allow not only to develop existing skills, but also to gain knowledge in specific specializations, such as medical robotics, industrial automation or specialized robots (drones). Students also learn about intellectual property protection and commercialization of research results.

About you

The first autonomous robots were constructed by W.G. Walter in 1948 and were named Elmer and Elsie. The mechanisms were equipped with numerous sensors, and were shaped like turtles that move across the floor and can find charging stations on their own. We can consider these robots as the "grandparents" of autonomous vacuum cleaners. Since the first autonomous solutions, the mechanical industry has grown tremendously. It took less than a century to turn simple machines into intelligent robots capable of performing complex tasks. Are you curious about what the next decades of progress will bring? Or do you prefer to create it yourself?

Second-cycle studies in Automatic Control and Robotics will prepare you to independently solve complex interdisciplinary problems in the fields of mechanics, automation, electronics and control. You will gain in-depth knowledge relating to, among other things, the physical and chemical processes used in rapid prototyping, as well as the integrated methods of CAx computer-aided design. You will gain skills related to the proper design of robotic systems, control, modeling, identification, system diagnostics, and boast knowledge of the latest development trends in the discipline. You will gain project and team management skills, which is essential for advanced construction and research projects.
