About the field of study

Second-cycle Chemical Technology students can explore and expand information not only in many industrial fields, including polymer manufacturing, but also drugs or industrial catalysis. They develop the ability to use general knowledge, covering the entire process of production, processing and research of compounds and chemical materials. The specialist knowledge is accompanied by a good knowledge of chemistry, chemical technology, mathematics, physics and English chemical and technological terminology. Students learn how to receive and safely use chemical products, learn how to deal with used goods and waste, promote sustainable development, actively participate in group work, lead human teams, and how to use professional literature and legal regulations in the field of business activities.

About you

Chemical and mechanical processing of polymers is popular in many industries. Each type of plastic is based on polymers that occur naturally in our ecosystem. Thanks to properly selected mechanical and chemical processes, it is possible to obtain, for example, different types of rubber, rubber or influence the parameters of vehicle tires. It is worth emphasizing that obtaining a given plastic is the more expensive, the more complicated the chemical process of obtaining polymers. However, in order to carry out advanced projects, it is necessary to have extended knowledge in the field of modern chemistry and chemical technology, taking into account the chosen specialization. You can get such training by choosing chemical technology at Lodz University of Technology. It is a study that will teach you to skillfully solve technological problems using modern methods of data analysis and the ability to use the latest chemical apparatus. You will not only acquire knowledge in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, but also learn about the legal, ethical and economic principles that graduates are guided by when developing technological processes. You will be able to skillfully interpret and describe chemical/physicochemical phenomena and conduct laboratory work, as well as organize the safe and efficient operation of such work stations.
