About the field of study
Mechanical engineering is a very broad and extremely dynamically developing discipline of technical knowledge. This scientific sphere encompasses the design of machinery and equipment, production technology, and supervision and maintenance processes for machinery and production lines. Master in Mechanical Engineering is carried out at the International Faculty of Engineering within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The study program is carried out predominantly by the project method. Students are encouraged to choose design problems from a variety of subjects and propose their own issues to solve. As a result, studying for a Master in Mechanical Engineering allows students to develop their interests and gain competence in their chosen field with the help of open-minded and experienced faculty members of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering who have experience in implementing projects in cooperation with industry. A large number of group projects and individual approach to each student allows to create conditions for scientific work and development of cooperation and communication skills in teams, also with the participation of students from abroad.
The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website.
Competencies you will gain
About you
Enzo Ferrari said: “I have never considered myself an engineer or an inventor, I only consider myself a promoter and agitator of ideas.” However, ingenuity and the ability to present and “sell” projects are extremely important in engineering works of various types. To create innovative solutions, in addition to an open head, knowledge of computer science, organization and management, foreign languages, marketing and humanities will also be useful. All these aspects are taken into account in the second-cycle study program of the Master in Mechanical Engineering. It will provide you with a range of soft skills, i.e. group work, time and team management, prioritization and self-education. These skills facilitate the establishment of private manufacturing and/or service companies and will prepare you to solve advanced engineering problems using professional software, as well as to conduct research.
If you see yourself in the future as a member or a leader of a group designing machines or complex equipment, and you want to further develop your competencies related to the broad field of mechanical engineering, then this is the degree program for you. Rest assured that this field of study will be a completely different experience than studying engineering. You will have the opportunity to take part in scientific research conducted at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and can become part of a team that carries out world-class work. These studies will certainly prepare you for jobs in research and development departments or open a career path to a PhD.
