About the field of study
Mechatronics is jointly run by two faculties: the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering (leader) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Students can choose elective blocks, containing subjects that develop the areas of knowledge they are most interested in. These include artificial intelligence systems in mechatronics, microprocessor systems and innovations in mechatronics. An important part of training is the ability to use a technical foreign language. Students develop their competencies in a practical way by taking selected classes in English.
Contrary to appearances, mechatronics has a great deal in common with medicine, especially since all devices that support various bodily functions - respiration, circulation, dialysis - are made by mechatronics. This profession is considered to be in deficit and extremely developmental.
The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website.
Competencies you will gain
About you
The term "mechatronics" was introduced in Japan in 1969 by Tetsura Mori, who worked at Yaskawa. Until the early 1980s, Until the early 1980s, the name meant as much as an electrified mechanism. However, after completing your first cycle study, you already know with certainty that mechatronics is not just about simple mechanisms, but high-tech devices. With a master's degree, you will gain knowledge in areas such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, electronics and computer science, among others, taking into account the latest technologies and development trends. It will allow you not only to create new inventions, but also to occupy management positions in industrial research and innovation and development institutions in the future. Your training will also make it easier to take up scientific research work. Competence in core subjects and specialized knowledge will make it easy for you to undertake innovative and pro-ecological activities in the areas of mechatronics.
