About the field of study

Education in the field of Sustainable Bioeconomy is an interdisciplinary proposal, the idea of which is not only to impart specialized knowledge, but, above all, to develop creative thinking skills aimed at building a competitive, innovative economy, based on technologies, using the latest achievements of science and technology. The studies in this regard were developed taking into account suggestions from industry representatives on the changing labor market and requirements for future graduates. Thus, they are a response to the ever-growing demand for experts in new regulations, bioproduct economics and economic processes. The educational program uses knowledge based on the achievements of technical and economic sciences and the latest technological solutions related to the bioeconomy. The training is aimed at learning about new technologies and consulting assistance, learning about sources of funding for pro-innovation activities, and presenting opportunities to support, create knowledge and innovation awareness for entrepreneurs and society. The study will be conducted in the form of lectures, exercises, laboratories, projects and other creative forms of education carried out in problem groups using presentations, interactive seminars and professional practice.

The study program can be found here.

Graduate opinions

About you

As the ecosystem faces serious threats and challenges, among them climate change and land degradation, the European Commission has decided to implement an EU-wide system for monitoring progress leading to a sustainable circular bioeconomy. However, it will not be possible to achieve the desired effect without taking into account knowledge of biosolids analytics, biomass conversion processes and the directions of their development using specialized equipment.

Although it sounds complicated, none of these issues are a problem for second-cycle graduates in Sustainable Bioeconomy What will you learn during your studies? You will learn the principles of circular economy and sustainable development, as well as advanced research methodology with environmental and economic considerations. You will gain knowledge of the main development strategies of industrial biotechnology and environmental engineering in the field relevant to the bioeconomy. You will gain skills that boil down to an innovative approach to solving problems with sustainability in mind, as well as creating competencies in science-business cooperation.
