    About the field of study

In the second-cycle studies in technical physics, students gain knowledge and acquire skills and competencies that enable them to develop intellectually and find interesting work.

The Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematic conducts training in optoelectronics in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at TUL. The Institute of Physics is collaborating with Corning Optical Communications Polska Sp. z o.o., which supports the optoelectronics specialization in terms of substantive cooperation, consumables and student internships. The study program allows you to develop your existing skills, but also focus on directional education. The labs allow you to gain knowledge in fiber optics, nanotechnology or flexible optoelectronics. Students also learn CAD modeling tools and gain project management skills.

The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website

    Specializations:

    • Optoelectronics

    Graduate opinions

The world of new technologies has always interested me. Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to understand the principles of technical innovation and the possibility of describing the surrounding world with the language of mathematics and computer models.

    About you

Technological progress is largely made possible by the efficient use of physical discoveries. One of the fields of Technical Physics is optoelectronics, which focuses on new light sources, such as lasers, as well as the transmission of light streams through wires that consist of glass fibers (optical fibers). Had it not been for optoelectronics, the revolution being carried out in the design of computer and television monitors by increasing the degree of resolution and image fidelity would not have been possible. If you, too, would like to create new solutions using optoelectronics, choose the second-cycle studies at Lodz University of Technology! They will allow you to gain knowledge of condensed phase physics and its relevant research methods, modern and applied physics. Classes are conducted in modern laboratories of the revitalized Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics at TUL. During your coursework, you will prepare to operate modern and complex measurement equipment used in many fields of science.
