My cooperation with Polmos began during my second degree. I carried out my master's thesis simultaneously as a student in the Zespół Technologii Spirytusu i Drożdży and as an employee at Polmos Zyrardow. Working at this company gives me a lot of experience, both professionally and in life.

About the field of study
Industrial Biotechnology is a filed of study for people who are interested in using biological systems, living organisms and enzymes to create or modify biotechnological processes for the efficient synthesis of compounds of industrial interest. By learning about the molecular mechanisms that govern processes in living organisms, students learn to construct innovative bioproducts. They use genetic engineering and molecular biology techniques to achieve this. They will also learn how to generate bioenergy and design sustainable processes in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, energy and environmental industries. The interdisciplinary curriculum has been well evaluated by life-science employers and allows a student in this field to specify his or her own interests and make an informed decision about further professional development.

I fell in love with this field of study and it never crossed my mind to change anything. Studying in English finally taught me to communicate fluently in English. I spent the mobility semester in Finland, at Lappeenranta University of Technology, where I explored chemical technology. At TUL there were no classes that gave only theory - we used everything in practice.

This field of study will let you combine biological and technical sciences to be able to practically and rationally use the potential of living organisms to obtain value-added products. You will learn a variety of techniques used in biology and related fields. You will have the opportunity to independently plan and carry out advanced experiments in our laboratories. Your studies will prepare you for employment in many industries including control laboratories and scientific research centers. The mobile semester will give you the opportunity to study at a foreign university, in an international community of students. You will choose the foreign university and elective courses, within your field, according to your area of interest. What's more, through internships you will learn about the market and gain work experience already during your studies. Internships will give you the opportunity to test the knowledge and skills gained during your studies directly in a biotechnology company or related industries. You will also participate in research and teaching visits to biotechnology companies, laboratories and plants that apply biotechnological processes. It's a unique opportunity to look at how the processes you know from college on a micro scale work on an industrial scale, and what your job might look like after graduation.
