About the field of study

This field of study is for people who have an engineering degree and want to supplement their education with qualifications and competences that allow them to work in such areas as: renewable energy, fire safety, industrial and environmental safety, and management and auditing. An important aim of training in this course is to prepare you to solve complex interdisciplinary environmental engineering problems independently and in teams. Environmental engineering in the 21st century is as much about innovation, modern environmental technologies as it is about fire safety, industrial safety or environmental management systems. 

The choice of second-cycle studies is an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of environmental management and environmental law, including EU law. Students learn to prepare basic documentation in the field of environmental protection, such as project information sheets, environmental impact assessment reports, ecological reviews, applications for a permit for the introduction of gases and dust into the air, applications for a permit for the generation of waste or water management operations. This allows you to take up work both in public administration bodies and in enterprises in the positions of environmental protection specialists.

About you

You encounter environmental engineering every day without even knowing it! How do you look at an ordinary 1.5 liter PET bottle, knowing that almost 20 kg of natural resources were used to produce it, and only 0.6 kg to create the same bottle from secondary raw materials? At master's studies in environmental engineering, you will not only become a more informed citizen, but also a master engineer who will be able to ecologically design such processes. 

You will gain knowledge of modern technologies in the field of air, water and land surface protection, as well as in the field of waste management and noise protection. You will acquire practical and theoretical preparation for the design, execution, operation of equipment and facilities for environmental protection (waste gas treatment, wastewater treatment, water treatment or waste treatment). You will gain skills in the field of renewable energy installations and heating, ventilation, air conditioning, as well as knowledge and competence in the field of energy audits and thermal modernization of buildings, as well as technical, technological and operational supervision over the functioning of environmental protection installations and ecological assessment of applied technologies. Graduates will be pursuing successful careers in scientific and research institutes, state and local government bodies related to environmental protection, municipal and sanitary management companies, various types of businesses, including those in the energy, heating, chemical or municipal sectors, analytical laboratories, design offices and institutions dealing with integrated environmental management, gas and wastewater treatment, water treatment, waste management.
