Lodz University of Technology taught me independence and responsibility for my decisions. My studies in Materials Engineering are the foundation of my professional career. I learned the concepts around which I work: material science, strength of materials, knowledge of mechanical engineering and construction, knowledge of technological processes.

About the field of study
Mechanical engineering is a very broad and extremely dynamically developing discipline of technical knowledge. This scientific sphere encompasses the design of machinery and equipment, production technology, and supervision and maintenance processes for machinery and production lines. Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering offer the development of design competence in a wide range of specialties in seemingly remote areas. The study program is carried out predominantly by the project method. Students are encouraged to choose design problems from a variety of subjects and propose their own issues to solve. Thanks to this, Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering allow students to develop their own interests and acquire competences in their chosen area with the help of open and experienced lecturers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. We focus on the implementation of projects implemented in cooperation with companies. A large number of group projects and individual approach to each student allows to create conditions for scientific work and development of cooperation and communication skills in teams, also with the participation of students from abroad.
The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website.
Specializations:
- construction and operation of innovative machines,
- applied mechanics,
- machine building technology.
Graduate opinions
Materials and technologies is a course of study in which you will gain theoretical and practical knowledge of materials with industrial and medical applications. You will learn about the physical and chemical properties of materials, which will increase your awareness of their application in work and everyday life.
Competencies you will gain
About you
Have you ever wondered what the process of building a machine looks like? The concept itself and the development of its design are very important. After that, models and visualization are prepared, which allows you to test the machine even before its creation. This stage requires a creative approach and requires creativity. Thanks to this, the work of the mechanic is interesting, developing and does not allow you to fall into routine. However, before starting the production cycle, you need to start the machine and then keep it in good condition. As you can see, this is a multi-stage process, for which specialists with extensive technical knowledge are necessary. To become such an expert, choose a second-cycle study in mechanics and machine building. You will gain knowledge and skills in the field of the implementation of manufacturing processes, assembly and operation of machines, design with the use of modern computational tools and selection of materials used for the construction of machines. With competence in the design, construction, technology and operation of machines, as well as the use of professional computer software, you will become a specialist in the field of mechanics and machine building and selected IT, economic, legal and environmental issues.
The work of a mechanical designer gives you the opportunity to watch your idea become a reality. If such a view can bring you a sense of joy and fulfillment, then the mechanical design profession is just for you!
