About the field of study

Second-cycle studies in the field of Textile Engineering train specialists in an industry with high potential for innovation. The curriculum provides skills in the design and technological design of textiles used in medicine, sports and transportation using modern material technologies, and through the creation of specialized textile applications for use in various areas of life. Not only will you develop the skills you learned during your first-cycle studies, but you will also take specialized classes tailored to your chosen specialty. You will learn about microprocessing systems in the field of textile and measurement techniques (specialization: clothing science and technology). Or maybe you prefer to learn about certification and accreditation (specialization:quality engineering and humanoecology of textiles)? Regardless of your choice, a wide range of electives awaits you in the second-cycle studies.

The exact list of courses taught in each semester can be found on the website.

Specializations:

  • innovative technologies for textile engineering,
  • quality engineering and humanoecology of textiles
  • textile design engineering,
  • clothing science and technology.

Graduate opinions

After graduating from the Faculty of Materials Technologies and Textile Design, I started working at the Central Institute for Labor Protection. I implement activities whose main task is to improve the conditions and safety of people in the working environment, through the use of personal protective equipment such as safety harnesses or textile shock absorbers.

About you

Gianni Versace said: “Don't be interested in trends. Don't let fashion take over you. You decide who you are, what you want to convey in the way you dress and the way you live.” Fashion is a way to emphasize your character, and Textile Engineering is a field of study that will open up new opportunities for you to express it.

When choosing Textile Engineering, you focus on acquiring practical knowledge in the field of basic and directional subjects: mechanics of textile machines, microprocessor systems, design, modeling and maintenance of textiles and special fibers. The study program will also allow you to acquire skills in the design of linear and flat textile products with intended design properties and effects and the use of computer techniques in textile design (specialization: textile design engineering). You will learn how to properly select raw materials, design technological processes and carry out technical and technological documentation of the product (specialization: textile design engineering). You will gain experience working with cutting-edge technologies, such as nanotechnology in textiles, as well as with multifunctional textile technologies and the creation of polymer and fiber properties (specialization: innovative technologies for textile engineering). Not only will you know how to design and construct textile products, but also special clothing. You will be able to easily plan the process of manufacturing clothing and technical products (specialization: clothing science and technology).
