In the recruitment for the 2024/2025 academic year, it is possible to approach the entrance exams for the Lodz University of Technology.
If there are no end-of-school exams in the country where you graduated from high school, you may choose to take a TUL entrance exam, but it is not required for this recruitment. In this case, the grades from the school leaving certificate will be binding. If you take the TUL exam then the exam grade will be binding in the recruitment process.
If among your high school exam grades (when the exam is compulsory), you lack any of the grades required in the recruitment process, you can also take the TUL exam. If you have all the required subjects in your mandatory exams, you cannot take the TUL exam.
The available exams are divided into basic and extended levels and two language versions: Polish and English.
In the recruitment portal, you can select the option that you want to take the exam in the following subjects: mathematics, English, physics, chemistry.
The exams will be conducted online.
Entrance examinations (1-st cycle studies) for candidates with certificates from outside the Polish education system:
The artistic aptitude test for candidates for the field of Design and Advanced Design and Technology consists in making a freehand drawing (on a sheet measuring 50 cm x 70 cm) and making a black and white composition measuring 30 cm x 30 cm and a colour composition measuring 30 cm x 30 cm (on a sheet measuring 50 cm x 70 cm) on given topics.
The artistic aptitude test for candidates for the field of Design and Advanced Design and Technology lasts a total of 4 hours, during which a freehand drawing is made for the first 2 hours, black and white composition for 1 hour and a colour composition for 1 hour.
The maximum number of points possible to obtain from the artistic aptitude test for the field of Design and for the field Advanced Design and Technology is 400. The condition for qualifying a candidate for studies in the field of Design and in the field of Advanced Design and Technology is to obtain at least 200 points from the test.
The candidate brings pencils and erasers (to make a freehand drawing), papers in the following colours: blue, yellow, red, grey, black (minimum size 210 mm x 297 mm), scissors, glue, ruler, compass.
The result of the artistic aptitude test in the field of Design and in the field of Advanced Design and Technology consists of scores in the following categories:
1. Nature drawing - still life (0 - 200 points), including:
a) assessment of the ability to correctly determine the principles of perspective and proportion of the observed reality (0 - 50 points),
b) assessment of the ability to build a figure using valence gradation (0 - 50 points),
c) assessment of the ability to build light and evoke relations between observed objects, this applies to the valor interaction of objects with each other and also the phenomenon of so-called Reflections (0 - 50 points),
d) assessment of the ability to build plans in the presented composition (0 - 50 points);
2. Black and white composition (0 - 100 points), including:
a) assessment of the ability to consciously organize the plane with elements cut from black bristol
(0 - 30 points),
b) evaluation of the ability to evoke rhythm on the plane (0 - 30 points),
c) evaluation of the author's solution to the problem presented (0 - 40 points);
3. Color composition (0 - 100 points), including:
a) assessment of the ability to consciously organize the plane with elements cut from colored papers (0 - 30 points),
b) assessment of the ability to use the simplest system of color relations, based on the three basic colors (0 - 30 points),
c) evaluation of the author's solution to the problem presented (0 - 40 points).

The distances between the elements should be maintained, while at the points that disrupt the rhythm, they can touch each other or overlap.

Task 3:
Make a flat, colorful, open composition with clear features of undulating rhythm. Using geometric elements of your choice (square, triangle or circle), build a plastic arrangement that will be characterized by the impression of rippling surfaces. The phenomenon of rhythmization should be emphasized by the use of three primary colors (red, yellow or blue). It is possible to change the size of the elements used.

Such a result can be achieved by using a differentiated scale of the elements used.

Task 3:
Make a flat, colorful, dynamic and at the same time open composition with clear features of rhythm disturbed at any point. Using a geometric element of your choice (square or triangle), build a plastic arrangement in which the preservation of the order of the rhythmic structure can be distinguished. The phenomenon of rhythmization should be emphasized by using three primary colors (red, yellow or blue).

University Admissions Committee who, together with the Admissions Department, carry out organizational supervision of the artistic aptitude test.
The Admissions Department appoints the teachers who will supervise the aptitude test (appointed teachers may not supervise the test of artistic aptitude for the field of study with which they are directly related).
The Rector's Plenipotentiary for Admissions appoints Examination Boards to prepare exam topics and evaluate works on artistic aptitude tests.
The composition of the Examination Boards is not public.
The Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Engineering and the Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design, the members of the Examination Board are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the information obtained about the composition of the Examination Board.
The tasks of the technical and organizational team include:
1) organization of the test of artistic aptitude;
2) preparation of rooms and workstations for candidates.
The tasks of teachers supervising a given classroom include:
1) verification of prepared workstations for candidates;
2) providing appropriate sheets with a prepared place for entering candidate data;
3) checking the list of candidates assigned to a given room;
4) coding the works,
4) drawing up group protocols.
3. The tasks of the Examination Board include:
1) developing the exam topics for artistic aptitude tests;
2) reviewing the works from the artistic aptitude tests;
3) entering the points obtained into the system and their justification.
During the artistic aptitude test, only candidates assigned to the room, supervising teachers assigned to the room, members of the technical and organizational team responsible for organizing the test, staff of the Admissions Department and the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Admissions may be present in the room.
The Examination Board develops examination topics in accordance with the rules specified in the relevant Resolution of the Senate. The Examination Board develops three sets of examination topics for individual artistic aptitude tests, held in July, and three sets for artistic aptitude tests, held in September, if such an exam will take place.
The Examination Board submits the sets of examination topics secured in a sealed envelope to the members of the technical and organizational team on the day of the aptitude test.
The drawing of exam topics takes place with the participation of the specified members. They pass the topics drawn in secure envelopes to the staff supervising the individual rooms.
Teachers supervising the candidates open a sealed envelope and communicate the topics to the candidates.
1. Teachers supervising in a given room, note on the minutes all the moments when the candidate left the room and his return to the room.
2. After completing the artistic aptitude test, teachers supervising in a given room code the works in their room.
3. The coded and anonymous works are forwarded to the Examination Board for evaluation.
4. After the test is completed, the protocol of the artistic aptitude test shall be prepared by the appointed teachers supervising in the given room.
5. The protocols of the artistic aptitude test shall be provided by the supervising teachers in the room to the members of the organizational and technical team, who shall deliver all the protocols of the artistic aptitude tests to the Admissions Department upon completion of the test.
After evaluating the works, the Examination Board:
1) enters the points obtained from the coded works into the system together with their justification;
2) draws up group protocols for coded works.
The protocols, after printing and signing by the Examination Board, are forwarded to the Admissions Department.
The Admissions Department prints individual protocols of evaluation of individual works decoded by the system.
Individual protocols are attached to the candidates' documents.

The artistic aptitude test for candidates for the field of Architecture consists in making two imaginative hand-drawn pencil drawings on given topics. One of the drawings should be made on a sheet measuring 50 cm x 70 cm, the other of the drawings – on a sheet measuring 35 cm x 50 cm.
The artistic aptitude test for candidates for the field of Architecture lasts a total of 5 hours, during which the candidate decides on the distribution of his/her time to prepare two hand-drawn pencil drawings on given topics.
The maximum number of points possible to obtain from the artistic aptitude test in the field of Architecture is 500. The condition for qualifying a candidate for studies in the field of architecture is to obtain at least 250 points from the test.
The result of the test of artistic aptitude in the field of architecture consists of scores in the following categories:
1) Evaluation of compliance with the assigned topic (0 - 150 points);
2) Evaluation of compositional solutions (0 - 100 points);
3) Evaluation of technical drawing skills (0 - 100 points);
4) Evaluation of the visual sensitivity presented (0 - 150 points).
For each grade, the weight distribution of scores is: small format 35%, large format 65%.

The Rector's Plenipotentiary for Admissions, in consultation with the Vice-Deans of the faculties responsible for the fields of study in which the entrance examination is to be conducted, appoints Examination Boards to prepare examination topics in accordance with the rules and scope specified by the head of the organizational unit organizing education in the field of study and assessing candidates during the exam.
The Examination Board for a given field of study consists of:
1. a member of the Field of Study Council for a given field of study;
2. an academic teacher conducting classes in a given field of study at a minimum doctoral level;
3. a teacher of the language in which the exam will be conducted, in the case of courses taught in French and/or English
For the entrance exam for a given field of study, one Examination Board is appointed.
The composition of the Examination Boards will not be public until the entrance examinations have begun.
The Dean of the faculty, members of the Examination Board are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the obtained information about the composition of the Examination Board
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for programmes conducted in the Polish language, where verification of artistic talent is not required, is 60 points. The condition for qualification is to obtain at least 31 points from the entrance exam.
The result of the entrance exam for studies in Polish, in which the verification of artistic talent is not mandatory, consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for fields of study in English is 80 points. A prerequisite for qualification is to obtain at least 41 points from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from language competence.
The result of the entrance exam for programmes taught in English consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points);
4) evaluation of language competence (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for programmes conducted in Polish with verification of artistic talent is 80 points. A prerequisite for qualification is obtaining at least 41 points from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from the portfolio.
The result of the entrance exam for the fields of study in Polish, where the verification of artistic talent is mandatory, consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points);
4) portfolio evaluation (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for the programmes in English, where verification of artistic aptitude is mandatory, is 100 points. In order to qualify, a minimum of 51 points must be obtained from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from language skills and at least 12 points from the portfolio.
The result of the entrance exam for programmes conducted in Polish, where the verification of artistic talents is mandatory, consists of scores in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the studied major (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the major (0-20 points);
4) evaluation of language competence (0-20 points);
5) assessment of portfolio (0-20 points).
The tasks of the Examination Board include:
- organization of the entrance exam;
- preparation of rooms;
- development of examination topics;
- conducting an entrance exam;
- assessing the candidate's answers during the entrance exam;
- entering the points obtained into the system and their justification;
- drawing up individual protocols.

The result of the entrance exam for studies in Polish, in which the verification of artistic talent is not mandatory, consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for fields of study in English is 80 points. A prerequisite for qualification is to obtain at least 41 points from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from language competence.
The result of the entrance exam for programmes taught in English consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points);
4) evaluation of language competence (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for programmes conducted in Polish with verification of artistic talent is 80 points. A prerequisite for qualification is obtaining at least 41 points from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from the portfolio.
The result of the entrance exam for the fields of study in Polish, where the verification of artistic talent is mandatory, consists of marks in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the field of study (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the field of study (0-20 points);
4) portfolio evaluation (0-20 points).
The maximum number of points from the entrance exam for the programmes in English, where verification of artistic aptitude is mandatory, is 100 points. In order to qualify, a minimum of 51 points must be obtained from the entrance exam, including at least 12 points from language skills and at least 12 points from the portfolio.
The result of the entrance exam for programmes conducted in Polish, where the verification of artistic talents is mandatory, consists of scores in the following criteria:
1) presentation of achievements in the context of the studied major (0-20 points);
2) discussion and argumentation skills (0-20 points);
3) substantive assessment of the candidate's knowledge and skills in the area of the major (0-20 points);
4) evaluation of language competence (0-20 points);
5) assessment of portfolio (0-20 points).
The tasks of the Examination Board include:
- organization of the entrance exam;
- preparation of rooms;
- development of examination topics;
- conducting an entrance exam;
- assessing the candidate's answers during the entrance exam;
- entering the points obtained into the system and their justification;
- drawing up individual protocols.during the entrance exam, only members of the Examination Board and thecandidate may be present in a given room.
In justified cases, it is possible to have another person not mentioned in section 2.
In justified cases, it is possible to conduct an online entrance exam.
The Examination Board after the assessment:
- enter the points obtained into the system together with their justification;
- draws up individual protocols.
The protocols, after printing and signing by the Examination Board, are forwarded to the Admissions Department.
Individual protocols are attached to the candidates' documents.
